Protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller

The Mueller investigation hangs by a thread, as Trump fumes and Congress twiddles its thumbs. The silence from leadership, particularly Mitch McConnell, is deafening. No collusion? McConnell and other top Republicans are colluding with Trump to undermine the only untarnished, non-partisan, fact-based inquiry into Russian meddling into our elections left standing. Only John McCain and lame duck Jeff Flake are really making any noise about this. It is absolutely unconscionable that our elected representatives have so little to say about the undemocratic and unjustified firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and about Trump’s unhinged attacks on Mueller.

Hello, I am a constituent calling from _______________ to urge Sen./Rep. ___________ to immediately voice his/her support for legislation to protect special counsel Robert Mueller. In light of the troubling firing of Andrew McCabe and the statements of Trump’s lawyer calling for an end to the investigation, I am concerned that Trump is about to do just that. Does the Rep./Sen. have an official position on this matter? If not, when can I expect one? Thanks for taking my call.

Support Net Neutrality:

Democrats in both the House and the Senate have introduced legislation that would overturn the FCC’s decision to revoke net neutrality rules. Net neutrality is the backbone of a free internet, and without these protections, ISPs could throttle, slow down, or even block content that they don’t like. It could also allow ISPs to charge consumers more for certain types of content. Democrats have a 60-day window to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to scrap with a simple majority the FCC’s order to end net neutrality rules, which started last week after the order was officially published in the Federal Register. During this 60-day window, the Senate would just need a simple majority to overturn the FCC order. One GOP Senator, Susan Collins has already signed on, so we need just one more Republican.

Hello, I am a constituent calling from ___________ to urge Sen./Rep. ____________ to support the restoration of net neutrality principles. We need net neutrality regulations in place to protect consumers from ISPs that would block, throttle, or slow down content that they dislike. We also need protections against paid prioritization in order to ensure that everyone has equal access to the open Internet. Thank you for taking my call.
