Trump Must Condemn UK Poisoning and Enforce Sanctions:

The brazen attack on British soil of a former Russian spy and his daughter by the Russian government is just the latest example of the lawlessness of the Putin regime. Yet, through it all, Trump says nothing. Congress enacts, with near unanimity, tough sanctions on Russia, and Trump flouts the law by refusing to enforce them. Questions swirl about Russia’s near-certain hacking of our election, and Trump calls the whole thing a hoax and a witch hunt. We can only imagine what secrets lie with Putin that cause our president to cower before him, but we must ask our legislators to speak out and for them to demand that Trump do the same. How many more will die? How many more elections will be hacked? How much more political divisiveness will be sown while our government sits on its hands?

Hello, I am a constituent calling from _______________ to urge Sen./Rep. ___________ to speak out against the latest atrocity committed by the Russian regime, this time on British soil. I also urge Sen./Rep. ________ to demand that the president do the same, and while he is at it, enforce sanctions passed by Congress months ago. Thank you for taking my call.

Gun safety:

After a freewheeling event in which he seemed to defy the NRA and open the door for raising the age to purchase some guns to 21, Trump has now predictably caved to pressure from the gun lobby and is now pivoting toward “hardening” schools. He claimed that there was “not much political support” for raising the age. Let’s call our reps and let them know just how much support this and other sensible gun control measures have.

Hello, I am a constituent calling from _____________ to demand that Rep./Sen. ______________ support stricter gun laws. In just the last few months, we’ve had three of the largest mass shootings in US history, and yet, Congress continues to do nothing. We need to raise the minimum age to purchase all guns to 21. We also need to ban AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles that can shoot off hundreds of rounds in a matter of minutes. These guns are not protected by the Second Amendment and have nothing to do with maintaining a well-regulated militia. You must take action to enact some basic gun control legislation to protect the safety of your citizens. Thank you for taking my call.
