Revoke Jared Kushner’s Security Clearance:
Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal broke a story detailing that several members of Trump’s legal team wanted him gone due to the myriad questions swirling around him, none of them good. He has taken questionable meetings with a variety of Russian nationals, and while nothing is conclusive (yet), Jared somehow neglected to mention any of these meetings on his security clearance forms. Combined with suspicions about the sources of funding for some of his business dealings, it is clear that this guy is a subpoena away from serious trouble. To call him compromised is an understatement. The fact that he has zero qualifications for government aside, his ethics record should be grounds for the immediate revocation of his security clearance.
I am a constituent calling from ___________ to urge Sen./Rep. __________ to call for the immediate revocation of Jared Kushner’s security clearance. Kushner has neglected to disclose several important meetings with Russian nationals, and even some on Trump’s own legal team think he is compromised. At least until the Russia investigations are concluded, Kushner should yield his security clearance. Thanks for taking my call.
Oppose Mass Deportations of Undocumented Immigrants:
According to widespread reports, ICE has been planning to carry out massive raids to deport up to 8,4000 undocumented immigrants by the end of this month, an action they were calling “Operation Mega.” That goal appears to be temporarily suspended due to the hurricanes, but these mass deportations would tear apart families and create massive disruptions for tens of thousands of people. It’s cruel and inhumane but consistent with the nativist policies that dominate our politics. We need to push our Congresscritters to speak out against these raids and to support the Dream Act.
Hello, I am a constituent from __________________, and I am calling to urge Sen./Rep. ________________ to speak out against “Operation Mega,” a planned raid that would have led to the deportation of 8,400 undocumented immigrants. This type of raid would tear apart families and would waste resources that could be used to rebuild our economy after the recent hurricanes. Instead, we need to support legislation such as the DREAM Act. The Dreamers came to the US as children. They have obeyed the law and they trusted the government. We need to uphold our promise to them. Thank you for taking my call.

Say No to Judicial Gerrymandering:
HB 717 is a terrible bill that would rewrite the districts used to elect judges in North Carolina. The specter of gerrymandering--already under such negative scrutiny for our legislative districts--raised its ugly head under the auspices of the same GOP lawmakers who run the General Assembly. After the ugly and phony redistricting process and the power grab against Roy Cooper and other areas of the executive branch, some Republican lawmakers want to lay partisan waste to the final branch of government not under their control. We must stop this bill. Bill summary and action:
I am a constituent calling from __________ to urge Rep./Sen. ___________ to vote no on HB 717, a bill that would gerrymander state judicial districts. Gerrymandering has been continually struck down by federal courts and is proving to be wildly unpopular with voters. The proposal to do the same to judicial districts seems calculated to benefit the majority party, further consolidating its lock on power in the state. Please reject this dangerous bill. Thanks for taking my call.
