SAVE MEDICAID & NO PER CAPITA CAPS
Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with low income in the United States. It is a means-tested program that is jointly funded by the state and federal governments and managed by the states, with each state currently having broad leeway to determine who is eligible for its implementation of the program. The AHCA, if passed, will cut more than $800 billion from Medicaid over the next decade. “Per capita caps” will devastate Medicaid-funded services that people with disabilities need to live, work and participate in their communities. Medicaid provides specialized healthcare services like nursing, personal care and therapies to children and adults with disabilities, seniors, and the working poor.
SCRIPT FOR SENATORS:
Hi. My name is _____, from zip code _____. I'm calling to urge Senator ______ to oppose any and all cuts to Medicaid. The horrendous AHCA not only cuts more than $800 billion from Medicaid, but by converting it to a per capita model, or block grant, it would also devastate low-income people on Medicare! This is just cruel and unacceptable. Will Senator _____ promise to vote against any bill that converts Medicaid into a per capita cap, including the AHCA repeal bill? Please take down my contact info so the Senator can get back to me with his answer. Thank you

Oppose HB 581, the Billboard Bill
This bill would drastically deregulate the billboard industry, making it possible for developers to create up to ten digital billboards per mile! These billboards are proven to be distracting and dangerous to drivers, and they are aesthetically ugly. This bill would strip local control over billboards, a theme with the NC GOP when it comes to municipalities.
I am a constituent calling from _______ to urge Rep./Sen. ______ to oppose HB 581, the billboard bill. I am concerned about the safety of digital billboards. I think local control is important on issues like this. I think we should preserve our state’s scenic beauty. Thanks for recording my call.
