This legislation compels President Trump and the First Family to reimburse the American taxpayer for federal funds spent at commercial properties that he or his family own or have a financial interest in. Every time he travels to a commercial property in which he has a financial interest, he forces the American people to deposit funds directly into his pockets.
Meanwhile, President Trump wants to cut programs that help our most vulnerable citizens. His budget calls for slashing more than $800 billion from Medicaid, while slicing $192 billion from nutritional assistance and $272 billion over all from welfare programs. The plan would cut by more than $72 billion the disability benefits upon which millions of Americans rely. It would eliminate loan programs that subsidize college education for the poor and those who take jobs in government or nonprofit organizations.
Congress has a strong role to play in protecting the American people from fraud and abuse and this bill is a key part of that effort.

The Bill (H.R. 2414):

Hi, my name is __________, I'm calling from zip code _____. I want Senator/Representative __________ to support Representative Ted Lieu's SWAMP Act, H.R. 2414. President Trump continues to visit his own properties, lining his pockets with tax payer money. Not only is this a blatant conflict of interest, but because he does this on, just about, a weekly basis it has already cost the taxpayers millions of dollars that are ending up in Trump's pocket. This Act would require Trump to reimburse the American taxpayer for federal funds spent at commercial properties that he or his family own or have a financial interest in. Because Congress doesn't seem to want to address the President's many conflicts of interest, I am strongly urging Sen/Rep _____ to support this act. Thank you.

Oppose HB 576, The Wastewater Spray Bill

First the legislature allowed hog farmers to spray us with waste, and this new bill proposes allowing landfill owners to take nasty, contaminated water at the bottom of landfills, aerosolize it, and spray it into the air. Proponents of the process say that it does not pollute; environmental groups beg to differ. One thing is certain: just like the hog bill, private companies stand to gain at the expense of North Carolina’s health.

Hello, I am a constituent calling from _____________. I would like to urge Sen./Rep. ____________ to reject HB 576, the wastewater spray bill. At the very least, this process needs more study to evaluate its risks to public health before it is allowed in our state. Thanks for recording my call.
