Trump Ethics Complaints

Walter Schaub, the director of the United States Office of Government Ethics is swamped. Why? Because under the Trump administration, ethics inquiries have gone up 618% from a comparable time in the Obama administration! Schaub needs help, and he is asking Congress to provide it. The House Oversight Committee, led by the notoriously partisan Jason Chaffetz could make serious headway into Trump’s myriad ethics problems. Let’s light up his phones, but also call our members of Congress to put pressure on Chaffetz and others. We the people are tired of conflicts of interests, hidden tax returns, secret meetings between advisors and foreign agents, and wasteful trips to Mar-a-Lago. Background:

Bad Immigration Bills

A slew of highly restrictive anti-immigration bills are alive in well in House committees. Each of these must pass the full House before April 27, or they cannot be law, so we must make noise about them now. They introduce punishments for so-called sanctuary cities, block groups from issuing IDs to undocumented people, remove bond and other legal protections, and force employers to use the restrictive federal e-verify program.

SCRIPT:

Hi, I am a constituent from _________ calling to urge Rep./Sen. _________ to oppose HB 35, HB 63, and HB 145, all of which are mean-spirited attacks on vulnerable immigrant communities. We need to fight for immigration reform, not punish people already on the margins. Thank you for recording my call.
