The Senate passed a highly intrusive internet privacy law that will allow internet service providers (ISPs) like Comcast, Verizon, and Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable) to sell your internet browsing history without obtaining your permission. Worse, the bill would explicitly prohibit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from overturning these rules in the future.

Hello, I am a constituent from _____________ and I am calling to urge Rep. ______________ to oppose legislation that would allow Internet Service Providers to sell customers’ internet browsing data without their permission. This is a clear violation of privacy and consumer freedom. Worse, as the legislation is written, it would prevent the FCC from revisiting these rules later. Thank you for recording my call.

Surrogate of the White House. A stooge for the president. Deeply compromised. These are a few of the charges leveled at Devin Nunes, the Republican head of the House Intelligence Committee, by Democratic leaders. Even some leading Republicans like John McCain are calling for an independent counsel or select committee to fully investigate the Trump team for possible collusion. Call to demand a serious, thorough, and independent investigation.

I am a constituent from zip code ________ calling to demand the immediate formation of an independent, select committee or special counsel to investigate the Trump team for possible collusion with Russia. Devin Nunes last week proved that he cannot be trusted on the Intel Committee much less lead it. Congress is incapable of conducting an independent probe. Will Senator/Representative __________ publicly call for an independent investigation? Please take down my information so that Senator/Representative ________ can let me know where he/she stands on the national security issue. Thank you.

Medicaid Expansion:
Now that the AHCA has gone down in flames, the GOP now seems content to try to let the Affordable Care Act collapse through neglect rather than fixing an imperfect piece of legislation that has provided millions with healthcare and saved countless lives. One small fix that North Carolina could do is to accept Medicaid expansion, which would cover North Carolina residents who don’t qualify for ACA subsidies or Medicare. Governor Cooper has repeatedly called for North Carolina to accept Medicaid expansion—after all, we’re already paying for it—but he cannot do so without action from the NCGA. Only the NCGA can approve Medicaid expansion. Gov. Roy Cooper attempted to expand back in January, but a federal judge blocked his action.

Hello, I am a constituent living in __________________ and I am calling to urge Sen./Rep. _________________ to support legislation that would allow Governor Cooper to accept Medicaid expansion. The ACA is going to be in place for the foreseeable future, and Medicaid expansion would benefit our state’s most vulnerable citizens, providing them with much-needed healthcare options. We as taxpayers are already paying for Medicaid expansion because it comes out of the federal budget. Thank you for your time.

HB 363: Bee Protection Bill:
This is a truly bipartisan bill that would do something valuable. The bill would prevent the use of certain pesticides that damage beehives, unless you are a farmer or licensed applicator. Dwindling bee populations are actually incredibly harmful for the environment, so this bill actually has real value for both beekeepers and everyday citizens.

Hello, I am a constituent living in __________________ and I am calling to urge Sen./Rep. _________________ to support House Bill 363, the Pollinator Protection Act. This bill would prevent the use of the neonicotinoid pesticides by people other than licensed users and would go a long way toward protecting the bee population. Without a healthy bee population, crops in NC have been failing at an unsustainable rate, resulting in a devastating effect on family farms. Please support HB 363 and support our state’s farming community. Thank you for your time.
