Support Murray-Alexander ACA deal:
[Senate only] Congress must authorize all subsidies to insurers in order to keep the premiums down, keep insurance companies providing coverage in all counties, and keep the cost for the federal government under control. States, insurance companies, and various health-related organizations are all against ending these subsidies. Senators Alexander and Murray announced a deal on these subsidies on Oct 17; our members of Congress need to support it when it comes to a vote (Senate will vote first). Hello, I am a constituent calling from __________ to urge Senator ________ to support the Murray-Alexander deal to stabilize the ACA. This is a needed step in protecting healthcare for millions, particularly given the agreement adds two years of much-needed subsidy funding, along with potential further steps to help 2018 enrollees. I am counting on Senator _______ to support this agreement and do it quickly as open enrollment is coming up and it is our elected officials job to make sure the ACA is properly funded. Thank you.
[Senate only] The House passed a $36.5 billion aid package for Puerto Rico. It’s completely insufficient and it doesn’t address some of the immediate needs and horrible mismanagement by the Trump administration. We need to push the Senate to support an even more robust aid package.
Hello, I am a constituent calling from __________________ to urge Sen. ________________ to support the Puerto Rican aid package passed by the House and to push for an even more robust aid package. The Senate should place Puerto Ricans on equal footing with other US citizens. This includes increasing funding for Medicaid to match the payments given to U.S. states, expanding access to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, and paying for an economic stimulus package to restart the Puerto Rican economy. Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens and should be treated equally to other U.S. citizens. Thank you for taking my call.

Stop the NCGA Coup:
I’ll have a more detailed action on the slow-moving legislative and judicial coup that is taking place in the NCGA, but you can do two things now. First, educate yourself on North Carolina’s election laws, gerrymandering and other issues by reading Stronger NC’s amazing Toolkit: http://strongernc.org/new-toolkit-fair-elections-north-car…/
Make a donation, if you can, to Common Cause, an amazing group that is fighting gerrymandering in our state. We made our donation as a gift donation in the name of Linda Hunt Williams our house rep. She thinks gerrymandering is great and won't be happy about my donation, but we feel pretty good about it. You can donate in the name of your favorite gerrymander supporter to. You just need their address which is located on this site: http://www.ncleg.net.
You can donate to the NC chapter of Common Cause here: http://commoncausenc.org/
